-1 DESCRIPTION
Seating furniture in one or more places.
The present invention relates to a seat furniture in one or more place (s), consisting of at least one body comprising a backrest located on said body and a seat part, the backrest of said piece of furniture, respectively the affected backrest with at least one seat in the presence of seat furniture with several places, being installed on said piece of furniture with the possibility of height adjustment, knowing that said backrest takes a comfortable position in the posture lifted by sliding, and a basic position in posture lowered by sliding; knowing that the backrest is fixed to the body by means of an articulated chain, with the possibility of adjustment both in height and towards the rear; and knowing that a respective coupling tab, secured to the frame, is located on said body and on said back, the tabs being secured by means of the bars of the articulated chain.
A seat furniture of this kind, having one or more place (s), is for example known from document DE-20 2006 006 765.5.
A seat of this type has proven itself.
However, to meet the user's wishes, it is necessary to improve such a piece of furniture in one or more places, in particular so as to facilitate the adjustment of the basic position to the comfort position raised by sliding.
Based on this prior art, the object of the invention is to provide a seat of the kind mentioned in the introduction, the actuation of which, in particular the displacement from the basic position to the comfort position , is facilitated by means, at the same time, of an economical and simple manufacturing possibility, as well as a long service life.
To achieve this object, the invention proposes that the backrest can be moved from the basic position to the comfort position with the help of the force of a spring, said spring being prestressed in the basic position.
The installation of a spring, in combination with an articulated chain known per se, has the result of considerably simplifying the movement of the backrest from the basic position, lowered by sliding, to the comfort position raised by sliding. In
BE-2009/0217
2009/0217
In this case, the force of said spring can for example be calculated in such a way that it substantially compensates for the self-weight of the backrest, so that, when moving from the basic position to the comfort position, it is only necessary to overcome the friction occurring at the points of attachment between the coupling lugs and the articulation bars. Thus, it suffices with a simple grip from below and a simple lifting of the end of the backrest facing the seat part, operating for example also with one hand, so that elderly users or with limited bodily faculties can also bring said file from the basic position to the comfort position, quickly and easily. Such a solution is inexpensive and simple to manufacture and, moreover, has an extremely long service life. To ensure movement from the comfort position raised by sliding, to the basic position lowered by sliding, it suffices to apply pressure from top to bottom on the backrest so that the latter is brought to the position of base, in opposition to the force of the spring, and remains in said basic position following the resistance to friction of the articulated chain which acts between coupling lugs and articulation bars.
According to the invention, it can preferably be provided that the spring is located between the body and a hinge bar.
The interposition of the spring, between the body and an articulation bar, allows a particularly effective solution, not visible to the user, from outside the seat part.
According to the invention, in a particularly preferred manner, it can also be provided that the backrest is fixed to the body by means of a quadruple articulated chain, with the possibility of adjustment both in height and towards the rear.
The use of a chain with quadruple articulation has itself proven itself and constitutes, in particular in combination with the spring according to the invention, an adjustment mechanism offering a long service life, the manufacture of which is simple and inexpensive.
This allows, in a particularly simple way, a movement not only upwards, but also backwards, knowing that this solution comprises only a small number of individual parts whose production is simple and economical, in
BE-2009/0217
2009/0217
-3 additionally having a very long service life and allowing, therefore, use of the seat furniture for many years.
In accordance with the invention, it may furthermore be provided, in a particularly preferred manner, for one of the articulation bars to be presented as a straight coupling rod and the second articulation bar to be presented as a connecting rod. coupling substantially describing a right angle and possibly forming an obtuse angle, said links being articulated, by their end regions or close to their end regions, on the coupling lugs of the body and the backrest, subject to the frame.
The angled coupling rod then provides, in addition, for the upward movement of the backrest, a displacement to the comfort position offset to the rear.
According to the invention, to take advantage of the spring force in a particularly effective way, a particular preference is given to the fact that the spring is between the coupling lug of the body subject to the frame, and the coupling rod substantially depicting a right angle, preferably in or near the elbow.
A spring thus arranged has proved to be particularly effective, the dimensioning of said spring being able to be chosen extremely modest, and therefore economical.
According to the invention, finally, a particular preference is given to the fact that the seat part is extended in the direction of the backrest, knowing that said extension is, in the basic position, in the region between the body and the file, being capped by said file; and forms, in the comfort position, an extension of said backrest possibly being provided with a prominent support surface materializing, in said comfort position, a spinal support or a lordosis support.
Such an extension of the seat part towards the backrest remains invisible to the user, in the basic position, in the region between the body and said backrest; and it constitutes, in the comfort position, an improvement in the seating comfort of said user. The implantation of a spine support or a lordosis support gives, in particular, a comfortable seat of long longevity.
The invention will now be described in more detail, by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
BE-2009/0217
2009/0217
FIG. 1 is a side elevation of a seat piece of furniture according to the invention, occupying the basic position;
Figure 2 illustrates the cabinet of Figure 1, in the comfort position;
Figure 3 is a side elevation of the backrest adjustment mechanism, in the basic position; and Figure 4 shows the mechanism of Figure 3, in the comfort position.
The figures show part of a seat cabinet 1. Said cabinet 1 consists of a body 2, comprising a backrest 3 located on said body 2 and a seat part 9. Said backrest 3 is installed on the cabinet 1 with height adjustment option. Said backrest 3 then takes a comfortable position (cf. FIGS. 2 and 4) in the posture raised by sliding, and a basic position (cf. FIGS. 1 and 3) in the posture lowered by sliding. By means of an articulated chain, the backrest 3 is fixed to the body 2 with the possibility of adjustment both in height and towards the rear. A respective coupling tab 4, 5, secured to the frame, is located on the body 2 and on the backrest 3. The legs 4, 5 are secured by means of the bars of the articulated chain.
According to the invention, the backrest 3 is adjustable from the basic position to the comfort position with the help of the force of a spring 8. Said spring 8 is prestressed in the basic position of said backrest 3. This has the effect of authorizing, by means of a modest force application, a particularly simple movement from the basic position lowered by sliding to the comfort position raised by sliding.
In this way, the elderly or people with restricted bodily faculties can settle case 3 quickly and easily. The spring 8 is then designed so as to substantially counterbalance the self-weight of the backrest 3, so that the displacement, from the basic position to the comfort position, only requires overcoming the friction force developed in the articulation points of the articulated chain.
Such a solution is economical, can be produced in a simple manner and has a long service life.
In the exemplary embodiment, as shown in particular by an observation of Figures 3 and 4, the spring 8 is interposed between the body 2 and a hinge bar. The backrest 3 is fixed to the body 2 at
BE-2009/0217
2009/0217
-5 means of a chain with quadruple articulation, with faculty of adjustment as well in height as towards the back. One of the articulation bars is then presented as a straight coupling rod 6 and the second articulation bar, to which the spring 8 is fixed in the embodiment, is presented as a coupling rod 7 describing an obtuse angle. Alternatively, it is also possible to use a coupling rod substantially describing a right angle. The links 6, 7 are articulated, by their end regions, on the coupling lugs 4, 5 of the body 2 and of the backrest 3, which are secured to the frame. The angled configuration of the link 7 allows in particular a movement of the backrest 3 to the comfort position offset upwards and backwards. This allows, simultaneously with a long service life and modest manufacturing costs, a simple movement of the backrest from the basic position to the comfort position.
In the embodiment, the spring 8 is interposed, in the region of the angle formed by the coupling rod 7, between the coupling tab 4 of the body 2 which is secured to the frame, and said connecting rod coupling 7 substantially describing a right angle.
As highlighted in particular by an observation of FIGS. 1 and 2, the seat part 9 is extended (at 10) in the direction of the backrest 2. In the basic position of the seat unit 1, the extension 10 is located in the area between the body 2 and the backrest 3, so that it is not visible to the observer. Said extension 10 of the seat part 9 has a prominent support surface which materializes, in the comfort position of the cabinet 1, a lower extension of the backrest taking the form of a support for the spine.
All the individual and combined new characteristics, mentioned in the description and / or illustrated in the drawings, are deemed to be of an essential inventive character.
In addition, it goes without saying that many modifications can be made to the furniture described and shown, without departing from the scope of the invention.
